2013: In september I had the honour to be invited to  the EPM (European Patchwork Meeting) in Saint Marie aux Mines, to present a retrospective of my work in an special exhibition in the Villa Burrus. More than 30 works were exhibited  and about 20.000 visitors came. The comments of the organizers and the visitors were very positive and encouraged me to continue in my personal patchwork style.

About my Work

I began my designs for patchworks with very traditional quilts, as log cabin or several blocks, starting the design with an exact drawing in the actual size.  Later when I began to use different tie-dye techniques, the geometry became to be diffused by the more organic  design of the fabrics. Now I begin choosing the fabrics (mostly dyied by myself with shibori-technique) and "build" a quilt on the wall. It is always a challenge to see a quilt changing and growing and I wonder wether it will do what I expect.   Now I use large areas that are not pieced.    I like to make quilts that are "almost"  symmetrical, this is also a challenge for me.

In my quilts I also use the applique and reverse applique techniques. All quilts are machine quilted and batted with different thicknes of polyester.
